Email Tops Social Media on Cell Phones

More mobile users check their email than their social media. According to Pew Research Center's 'experience sampling' survey of over 1,000 users, 88 percent of mobile users checked their email, while 74 percent checked their social media during the same time frame. Email is the fourth most popular activity, behind texting, internet use, and voice/video calls. And it's slightly more popular among 18-29 year olds than among older users.
